Bronx kids walk to raise awareness about child abuse
Students at one Bronx school took to the streets to take part in a Kids Care Walk to raise awareness about child abuse and neglect.
Kids at C.S. 55 Elementary School warmed up before their one and a half mile walk by doing some fancy foot work to the beat. On their walk, the kids passed by the Bronx Hall of Justice and ended up at Yankee Stadium.
The students also raised money for Safe Horizon, a children's advocacy organization. All together they raised $1,000 in just one week. The kids held bake sales to help raise the money.
This was the school's first Kids Care Walk for Safe Horizons. The staff and students say they are looking forward to going the distance for other causes in the next school event.
