'Bronx Mama' shares summer hotspots
The Bronx has plenty of hidden gems in the restaurant scene, but local blogger Nicole Perrino already knows that.
The blogger who goes by "Bronx Mama" on her website has a list of rooftop and outdoor restaurants that she says are great warm-weather destinations.
Among them is Havana Cafe on East Tremont Avenue, which she recommends for its brunch and weekend night offerings. With its culturally inspired decor and outdoor seating, she says that the Cuban restaurant is perfect for the family or a date night as well.
Perrino is also a fan of the Ice House Cafe in Throgs Neck. She says that its quaint dining area and outdoor patio overlooking the Eastchester Bay will draw people in, but the food will make them stay.
"They do mimosa nights on different days where there are $1 mimosas and the clams are $6. They also have some great steak night dinners where they're $25 for two," she says.
