Hundreds of children from all over the Bronx are trading the classroom for a courtroom to play some chess.

Hundreds of children from all over the Bronx are trading the classroom for a courtroom to play some chess.
Over 300 students participated in the chess tournament hosted by Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr.
The event is an attempt get Bronx children interested in different activities.
Students from different public schools across the borough were separated into two sections where some are beginners and others are returning for more trophies.

Organizers say every student receives a medal.
