Residents in the Bronx continued Sunday to thaw out from Thursday's snowstorm amid bone-chilling temperatures.
Many say battling the cold is no easy task.
"It is, especially when you're sick," says Elke Blacksten. "This (scarf) is helping me not to get more sick."
Some people used Sunday - a day of worship - to take shelter inside local churches.
"Keep our spirits good and in this cold, it's very important to say warm. It's very cold," says Ana Flores.
Although some say the snow created some scenic sights, most seem to agree the winter has been harsh so far.
"Horrendous, brutal and straight-up disrespectful," says Douglas Scott.
