Bronx residents enjoy summer temperatures in October
Temperatures climbed to around 80 degrees Tuesday across the Bronx, nearing record highs for the month of October.
Residents took advantage of the weather in places like Van Cortlandt Park, City Island and the Turtle Cove Golf Center.
Elizabeth Elstak was sitting outside enjoying the unusually warm weather, and she says it's a nice surprise.
"It's October, and tomorrow might be 40 degrees, so we decided to take the chance of coming down to the shore," she says.
Brenda Ferebee, a Kingsbridge native who was walking in the park, says she thought the warmth was unusual for this time of year.
"I think this is very crazy," she says. "If I had known it was going to be this warm I could have kept my pool open."
Forecasts show the weather will continue until Wednesday.
