Bronx residents fearful for family in hurricane's path
Some residents in the Bronx say they are concerned for family and friends living in areas threatened by Hurricane Matthew.
Yves Filius, a political director in the borough, says he hasn't heard from his mother in Haiti.
"I haven't heard from her since this past weekend and my siblings and my father - we've been trying to reach out to her but I haven't heard from her," he says.
Filius says that although he was born and raised in the Bronx, the people of Haiti who live in the borough have a strong connection with people in the Caribbean country.
