Bronx restaurant offers free delivery to first responders, medical workers

Shanghai Red Asian Latin Bistro offered up some free delivery to first responders in an effort to make the most of the restrictions now in place because of the coronavirus.

Shanghai Red Asian Latin Bistro offered up some free delivery to first responders in an effort to make the most of the restrictions now in place because of the coronavirus.

The restaurant made its rounds to medical workers at Metro Urgicare as well as police officers at the 45th Precinct.  
Juan Torres, handing out the meals, says all those on the receiving end are incredibly grateful. He says he is typically a server but is now on the road delivering food in response to the state’s decision to suspend dine-in options at restaurants.

Leaders at the Westchester Square Business Improvement District also say they are constantly monitoring this pandemic and its impacts on local businesses. 
They say any business owners in the district are always welcome to reach out to the BID if they have any questions about how they’re being affected.
