A school bus full of children was involved in an accident Saturday morning.
Seventeen students and three teachers from Bronx Career and College Prep High School boarded the bus headed toward Long Island for a field trip around 7 a.m. About half an hour later, parents received a call that the bus had been involved in a crash.
"We thought it was the worst," said Jose Mordan. "We thought that something happened to everybody on the bus, especially her. Once you drop your daughter off at school to go to the trip, you're not expecting that call."
Fortunately, police tell News 12 there were no injuries.
The bus driver tells News 12 that his bus was struck by a gray SUV when he was driving up Claremont Parkway. He says the driver passed a red light going down Fulton Avenue and hit him.
The bus then crashed into one parked car, which ultimately caused damage to two other parked cars.
Police, however, have not yet confirmed who is at fault.
News 12 is told that the driver of the SUV remained on the scene.
