Bronx shootings prompt push for youth programs
A Bronx mother who lost her son to gun violence is calling for more programs for young people in the wake of multiple weekend shootings.
The surge of violence left several young people injured, including a 15-year-old girl.
Jenaii Van Doten is calling for more community outreach and will be taking part in several anti-violence rallies and forums to push for youth programs.
Van Doten's son, Alphonza Bryant, was caught in the crossfire of two rival gangs on Fox Street two years ago. She says she is concerned about the safety of her youngest son who is now 17 years old, the same age Alfonso was when he was killed.
