A Bronx teacher is preparing to run the the New York City Marathon on Nov. 9 as a tribute to family members who have died.
On a normal training day, Kevin Hyde says he wakes up between 3 a.m. to 4 a.m. and runs five to eight miles at Jerome Park in Marble Hill.
He then goes to his full time job as a teacher at a Brooklyn high school.
Hyde is running as a tribute to his dad and his brother, who both passed away a few years ago and always encouraged his running.
"Him and my brother are probably having the biggest laugh party, like look at this clown, we tell him to run and now he wants to run a marathon," he says.
