No matter what your New Year’s Eve plans are, one towing company in the borough wants to make sure you get home safely.

Employees at Five J's Automotive on Zerega Avenue have a New Year’s Eve tradition of making sure Bronx residents get home safely after their celebrations.

"Every year we give back to the community by giving free tows for those that are either impaired or under the influence," says Eddie Vasquez, Five J's manager.

Vasquez has been with Five J’s for over two decades and has been providing the free New Year’s Eve tow for just about that entire tenure. He says this initiative all got started after his team towed mangled cars out of horrific drunk driving accidents.

"It's just that horrific that sometimes we look at a vehicle and we see the tragedy that happened, so we give back to the community by offering these rides," says Vasquez.

The services run from midnight to 6 a.m. on New Year’s Day. To schedule a tow, residents must call (718) 792-0300, tell them where the car is located and Five J’s will drop you and your car home safely.

"Don't be embarrassed whether it’s for you or a family member, just give us a call, no questions asked, free of charge, we'll pick you up and give you a ride to your destination," says Vasquez.
