A Bronx woman won $14 million in a lawsuit filed against three low-income housing landlords.
Lawyers argued that the landlords ignored a broken ceiling in Angelina Register's apartment despite the fact they had just received a grant from the city to "completely renovate" the building.
Register says that the broken ceiling collapsed on her and caused permanent damage to her spine. She has already had a spinal fusion surgery and is expected to require more surgeries in the future.
