Bronx-based designer aims to empower at International Women's Day show
A Bronx-based designer is using his fashion to empower women during Women's History Month.
Collins Chuks, who was worked with celebrities like Kerry Washington, says his brand is partnering with Wonder Woman Tech to host a showcase of his collection. He describes his collection as a marriage of ethereal and architecture.
Chuks says he hopes his designs inspire more women to get into fields where they're underrepresented, including science, technology, engineering, arts and math. He says being raised by a strong woman himself has helped him know what it means for a woman to feel beautiful inside and out.
Chuks says he's still hashing out some last-minute details on his designs but will be ready for his show Friday night.
Friday is International Women's Day.
