A Brooklyn hospital used World Cancer Day to raise awareness about the deadly disease.
At Brookdale Hospital, people were able to get information on breast cancer, cancer facts for men with the focus being on early detection.
"When you catch cancer at its earliest stages, it's almost always curable," says Dr. Saul Arber, who works in radiation oncology at Brookdale Hospital.
Doctors and hospital workers encouraged people to go for regular check-ups and get screened because it saves lives.
The hospital also provided tips on a healthy diet and lifestyle which can help prevent the chances of getting cancer.
