One of the stars of TLC’s “Cake Boss” will undergo a drastic change in order to raise money for sick children.
Danny Dragone has been sporting a mustache for more than 30 years. His co-workers at Carlo’s Bakery often give him flack for it.
“They try to bust my chops all the time,” he says. “’When you gonna shave your mustache? When you gonna shave?’”
Dragone has decided that he will finally shave off his famous facial hair if people donate $25,000 to Make-A-Wish New Jersey. The organization helps grant wishes to local children facing life-threatening illnesses.
“Make-A-Wish Foundation is a very incredible foundation,” Dragone says. “I see a lot of kids come here. They have a smile on their face when they see us. I say let’s do it for them.”
“Cake Boss” co-stars Buddy Valastro and Ralph Attanasia will have the honor of shaving his mustache. Attanasia says that he has been practicing.
“Danny looks like a cranky old man. That’s because he is. But underneath that, he cares a lot,” Attanasia says.
The shaving of the mustache will happen at the magical home of Make-A-Wish Foundation in Monroe Township.
It costs an average of $10,000 to grant a child's wish in New Jersey. President and CEO Tom Weatherall says that the foundation has a goal of granting 500 wishes this year -- A first for the organization founded in 1983.
Anyone who wishes to donate to the cause can do so HERE.
