A car crash at a busy Throgs Neck intersection took down a traffic light pole, leaving many Bronx residents worried about their safety walking around the area.
A truck was making a turn onto Bruckner Boulevard and hit a traffic pole on the corner of East Tremont Avenue Monday evening.
Police officers taped off the area and crews were able to fix the traffic pole by Tuesday night. There was only a little bit of yellow tape left near the corner by Wednesday.
There have been 23 injuries reported at the intersection since 2016, according to Vision Zero's website.
Bronx pedestrians are highly concerned about their safety. Some residents have suggestions -- putting more signs up, delayed walk signals or a separate light for pedestrians to walk.
The city's Department of Transportation didn't respond to News 12's questions about whether it has received complaints about the intersection.
