Church, former gang feed those in need
A once-violent street gang in the Bronx is using the Thanksgiving holiday to team up with a local church to feed those in need.
Former members of the Black Spades gang teamed up with the United Christian Baptist Church Thursday to provide a Thanksgiving feast to the needy.
The feast has been held at the church for the last seven years, but this is the first year that they are joining forces with the Black Spades.
Reverend Reginald Paris says that while it might take some time for the church to get their message out to the public, it is something the community needs.
"I'm tired of seeing my community suffer. I'm tired of seeing its children dying," he says.
