City officials are coming together Sunday to speak out against gun violence just one week after the shooting at a Brownsville park and hours after two mass shootings left at least 29 people dead.
Police say last week’s shooting in Brooklyn left one person dead and 11 others injured.  The NYPD Counterterrorism Unit says they are increasing patrols as an added safety measure around the city.
Multiple city officials took to social media to show their support in wake of these shootings.
Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams posted on Twitter, saying there have been three domestic terror attacks in this country in the last week.

Councilman Carlos Menchaca, who is from El Paso, tweeted “My mom and family are home, safe, but they are in shock. Keep El Paso in your thoughts.”

Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz also reacted on Twitter, calling for gun reform.   The NYPD is still searching for the suspects in last week’s shooting in Brownsville.
