Residents of Clason Point are celebrating the long-awaited approval of the addition of new traffic signals at two intersections that have been a source of community concern for almost 10 years.
The Department of Transportation says the intersections at Seward and Thieriot avenues and Sunset Boulevard and Soundview Avenue will receive the traffic signals in late November.
Several residents tell News 12 The Bronx that speeding cars and congestion mixed with people trying to cross the street and stopping buses have consistently led to confusion and accidents.
The decision comes after the DOT conducted traffic studies at both intersections.
