Clinic at Hostos offers free dental services
A community college in the Bronx is offering free dental care to local families.
The 24-chair clinic at Hostos Community College offers free exams, X-rays and cleanings. It does not provide surgeries or fillings.
The work is done by aspiring dental hygienists with a licensed clinician overseeing their procedures.
Luis Hernandez, a senior in the program, says it allows students to put what they learned in the classroom into actual use.
Administrators say the program helps provide free dental services to some people who can't afford them.
