Co-op City kicked off Fourth of July festivities Monday with a bang.
Excited residents were setting up chairs early in the evening to watch the fireworks display along Co-op City Boulevard.
The event featured live music, entertainment and, of course, the fireworks show.
A number of local youth groups also attended the event. The Riverbay Fund, the nonprofit group organizing the event, allows youth sports teams to set up vendors to raise money for their team expenses.
The Riverbay Fund, which is a part of the Riverbay Corporation, provides educational and cultural programming for the Co-op City community.
