A Disability Expo was held in Co-op City Sunday.

Tools and services for people with disabilities were on display, but the event also showcased what members of the disabled community are still able to accomplish.

Patrice Reid is a severe epileptic, but she says painting gives her purpose.

"Many times when I finish a painting I'm so shocked," Reid said. "I say, ‘I did that?’ I can't believe it."

The event also served as a reminder of disabilities that aren't visible. Organizers of the event say people with mental disabilities are often not recognized.
