Members of the Hunts Point community came together in Hunts Points Saturday to wear red and host a car wash to raise money for one boy's heart surgery.
The car wash on Randall and Bryant avenues was held for Tyler Browuadio who suffers from Wolff Parkinson White Syndrome. The syndrome causes an extra electrical pathway between his heart's upper and lower chambers, causing rapid heartbeats.
Tyler’s family is grateful for the support of the community.
“It’s better than anything possible. Knowing that he has the support, that’s what it’s all about,” says Tyler’s father, Philip Browuadio.
He is expected to have the surgery when he is 5 years old.
The car wash will continue until 5 p.m.
