A community is mourning the loss of a beloved Mount Eden teen after he was shot in the head and killed late Saturday night.

Police say Joseph Jimenez, 19, was most likely mistaken for someone else and shot by accident just a block away from his home on Rockwood Street and Walton Avenue. Jimenez was taken to Bronx-Lebanon Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police say Jimenez has no criminal history and did well in school.

Since news spread of his death, a memorial for Jimenez has been packed with family, friends and teachers coming by to visit all day Sunday.
