Co-op City residents are concerned about the MTA's plan to make major bus route changes in an effort to provide faster, more reliable service.
On Thursday, Councilman Andy King spoke with those who take the bus from the Section 5 community. He says that, with the redesign, five of the six buses that pick up and drop off at the stop will be rerouted. This means that riders will have to take the Co-op City loop, then transfer at other stops, which will cost them time and possibly more money.
According to the MTA, Bx23 will be the only bus that serves Section 5.
Councilman King says he thinks residents and representatives should have been included in the planning process. Residents can voice their concerns on Thursday, June 27, at the Riverbay Corporation.
