Councilman Andy King sent a response team to clean a Bronx underpass Tuesday after multiple complaints from residents in the area.
Bottles, cans and boxes were among the refuse picked up right under the overpass on Bartow Avenue near Baychester Avenue.
This is part of the New York City Cleanup Initiative and King's Operation Cleaner Streets.
Operation Cleaner Streets takes place monthly with a new location to be cleaned each month. The Department of Sanitation was also present.
"Today was all about making sure our strip here on Bartow and Baychester in the Co-op City area remains clean,” said King. “…Anytime there is a corridor that you think needs cleaning, I ask that you call my office or call the Department of Sanitation.”
Residents can also call 311 if they see a problem.
