Westchester County officials toured Rye Playland Thursday to ensure there are safety precautions in place before the opening.
News 12 went behind the scenes with officials to take a look at the concession stands and rides.
The move comes on the heels of public criticism launched at Playland by the management company after the county killed a 30-year deal to have Standard Amusements operate the park.
County Executive George Latimer ended the deal. Officials at Standard Amusements were critical of the county and suggested that reports revealed a lack of safety at Playland.
Latimer refuted the claims and said earlier this week, "This park is safe, has been safe and will be safe."
The park officially opens Saturday.
