Police: Medford man ejected from vehicle in LIE crash

A Medford man was ejected from his vehicle and seriously injured in a crash on the Long Island Expressway Monday.

A Medford man was ejected from his vehicle and seriously injured in a crash on the Long Island Expressway Monday.
Suffolk police say the man driving on the westbound side of the LIE and swerved to avoid striking a vehicle that had slowed for construction. The vehicle flipped over and ejected the driver.
The man was transported via helicopter to a hospital.
All westbound lanes between exits 56 and 57 were closed for hours following the crash but have since reopened.
