Crash victim's mother warned him of motorcycle dangers
The mother of a 25-year-old man killed Sunday in a motorcycle crash in the Bronx warned her son of the dangers of riding.
Police say the crash happened at 1980 East Tremont Ave. around 3:30 p.m.
George Gonzalez was driving to a friend's house when police say he tried to pass a car on his motorcycle but collided with it and then crashed into a tow truck that was double-parked.
The victim's mother warned him that the bike he bought two months ago to save money while commuting to work in Manhattan was dangerous.
Gonzalez was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
He leaves behind a 6-year-old daughter.
Police say the driver of the tow truck was given a summons for double-parking.
