The annual Festival of Lights brought residents together at the Vishnu Mandir Temple in Soundview.
Diwali is one of the most popular festivals celebrated worldwide.
Many places light up hundreds of candles to represent light overshadowing darkness.
The five-day long event is celebrated with music, lights and fireworks.
