A former Bronx building superintendent is accused of raping and sexually assaulting young girls in multiple locations where he worked.
Angel Martinez, 63, was indicted on Tuesday. Court documents say he preyed on a 5-year-old girl, sexually abusing her for three years in the basement of a University Avenue building from 2009 to 2011.
Martinez is also accused of raping a 14-year-old girl at a Mott Haven building. Tenants say he lived on the first floor and kept cats in the basement that he would use to lure children. One woman says Martinez tried luring her 13-year-old that way, but the boy was uncomfortable and refused to go.
That woman also claims Martinez went into her apartment on another occasion and snapped a photo of her shirtless 20-year-old son, without his knowledge, before posting it to Facebook.
Tenants tell News 12 they are outraged with building management for not vetting the superintendent before giving him the job. News 12 did not immediately hear back from the management company for comment.
