A unique housing development is on its way to the Claremont park neighborhood to provide Bronx families with more affordable housing options.
Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson joined representatives to present a capital grant check of $500,000 for the Claremont House, an eight-story residential development offering 66 affordable homes.
The project is a partnership between the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development, Camber Property Group, Habitat for Humanity New York City and Westchester County along with other organizations that will provide homeownership education and resources for first-time home buyers whose applications have been denied.
The Uniform Land Use Review Procedure is set to begin in June, and Gibson tells News 12 that investing in the community is a key factor in making sure minority communities can push forward.
