The Fairfield Fire Department responded Wednesday to reports of gas odors but were unable to locate the source.

Fire officials had the gas company come to check it out and no issues were found. The odor was detected in the northeast section of Fairfield.

Officials didn't identify any underground leaks, saying they are confident there is no leak, and the public is safe.

The odor also spread into Bridgeport.
