There are ghosts and ghouls and pumpkin spice lattes all over the city right now, but fall in the Bronx is even better known for its foliage.
Visitors say one garden in the borough is particularly beautiful this time of year.
Some of them call the public gardens at Wave Hill a treasure of the Bronx, and they say the best time to see it is in the fall.
It's a few miles north of the George Washington Bridge, tucked alongside the Hudson River.
This time of year, the greenery gives way to some yellows, pinks and purples, too.
"Our mission at Wave Hill is to get people to connect with nature," says communications director Mary Weitzman. "And so some people come across that pretty easily."
The garden also offers lectures and educational programs, like a walk-and-talk called Dead Botanists.
Some visitors on Wednesday came from as far away as Austria, but officials say Wave hill is open all year, even in the snow.
Admission to the garden is less than $10.
