A special dinner in Castle Hill Friday honored those who serve the community.
Dozens of members of the NYPD, FDNY and other organizations in the Bronx came together for Community Board 9’s fourth annual appreciation dinner.
Over 100 people and organizations were given awards, including two to the families of fallen heroes Yadira Arroyo, an EMT, and NYPD Sgt. Paul Tuozzolo, who were killed in the line of duty.
"I was so surprised but I feel so honored and happy to be here," said EMT worker Monique Williams, who was Arroyo's partner.
