Family: Boy struck by stray bullet faces long road to recovery
A Crown Heights child who was shot by a stray bullet last week remains hospitalized.
Jayden Grant, 11, was hit on Lincoln Place Thursday evening, and his family says he has a long road to recovery ahead.
Surveillance video from a grocery store on Schenectady Avenue shows when the shooting happened. A man can be seen pulling what appears to be a gun and firing several rounds. A man was also injured.

Angel Eaddy, 27, was charged in the crime. Investigators say the victims were not the intended targets, and that the suspect intended to shoot someone else.

Grant was taken to the hospital in critical condition. His grandmother says the bullet went into his shoulder and traveled to his spine, where it took out a piece. He has no feeling in his lower body. Doctors told his family that if he doesn't regain feeling, he may never walk again.
Grant’s grandmother says the only option is moving into a wheelchair-accessible apartment, and now she is pleading for any help.

“I’m hoping somebody knows, somebody that knows somebody, that have resources and that can point me in that direction. Hopefully, like Victim Services Bureau or some advocacy group can really help us out,” she says.

Grant’s family say they are unsure when he will be released, but when he is, he will still need extensive physical therapy. His school is trying to raise money for any expenses he may need.
