Family, friends pray for Bronx mom's safe return
Family and friends of a missing Bronx woman held a vigil Friday in Parkchester to pray for her safe return.
Diana Perez, 42, was last seen walking her white English pit bull terrier on the morning of June 14. Perez missed her son's graduation Thursday, causing her family to grow even more concerned.
News 12 obtained a surveillance video from outside a car wash that shows a person matching Perez's description tying up a dog and walking away. The dog was later recovered and identified as Perez's dog.
Family members hope the video helps police track down their loved one.
Police say the search is ongoing. Fliers are circulating showing Perez's picture above text asking her to come home.
Meanwhile, the owner of the car wash where Perez's dog was found contacted News 12 to say police broke into his business to search it. The owner says officers contacted him to say they were following up on a tip, and needed to seek the premises.
The next morning, the car wash owner says he found out police had broken into his business overnight to search it. He provided security video to News 12 that apparently shows officers breaking a lock and going through his shop.
