Family gives out gifts in late son's honor
The family of a young Bronx man who took his own life donated holiday toys to needy children in his honor Tuesday.
Raymond and Anna Acosta held the second annual event at the Union Community Health Center.
Their son Jonathan Acosta killed himself at 26 years old after a decade spent battling bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.
The parents say that donating to needy children helps them feel connected to their late, kind-hearted son.
The Acostas are also setting up a foundation, Jonathan's Angels, to continue to provide Christmas gifts for children in less fortunate families.
