Family and friends gathered Sunday to remember a Bronx woman whose body was found decomposing in a home.
Police say Cindi Olivo's body was found decomposing in a home on University Avenue earlier in July. The medical examiner ruled the death a homicide, saying the cause of death was stab wounds to the neck.
Olivo's family were not able to say goodbye the way they wanted to because her body was severely decomposed.
The victim's mom tells News 12 that police now want to question the victim's boyfriend.
"You would never think this would happen to you as parents," says Elizabeth Muniz, the victim's mother. "That you would bury your child."
She says she barely spoke to her daughter the last year and a half of her life and that Olivo became very distant.
Muniz believes her daughter was in an abusive relationship.
Olivo will be laid to rest at St. Raymond's Cemetery on Monday.
