Family of slain veteran pleads for justice
The family of a veteran who was shot and killed in the Bronx earlier this month is pleading for justice.
Jason Lloyd Allwood was laid to rest Monday after police say he was among two men shot on Murdock Avenue at around 2 a.m. on March 13.
Loved ones say the 33-year-old was at a party with a friend when a fight broke out. They believe Allwood tried to break it up before driving away, but was pursued to a dead end road by another vehicle and shot.
The father of two briefly served in the Army, but went on medical leave when he was diagnosed with leukemia. His family also says he planned to propose to his girlfriend, the mother of his youngest child, next week.
Anyone who has information about the shooting should call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
