New information has been released on the deadly fire that damaged a portion of Trump Tower in Manhattan.
The four-alarm fire broke out at Trump Tower just before 6 p.m. on Saturday.
Flames shot from the 50th floor of the Fifth Avenue high-rise as 200 firefighters and emergency workers battled the flames.
Upon arrival, firefighters pulled an unconscious Todd Brassner from his apartment.
According to police, the 67-year-old man was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he died later that evening.
According to fire officials, firefighters swept the building to determine the source of the blaze, which was under control around 8 p.m.
The tower that bears President Donald Trump’s name is also his residential home, which occupies the top three floors of the building. The president and his family were not at the building at the time.
Prior to the announced death of Brassner, the president tweeted a congratulatory message to the FDNY and praised the building's construction.
Officials say the fire was a tough one to battle.
"This is a very difficult fire as you can imagine. The apartment is quite large, we're 50 stories up. The rest of the building had a considerable amount of smoke," says Fire Commissioner Daniel Nigro. "It took a lot of members, 200 firefighters and EMS members are on the scene."

The Medical Examiner’s Officer will determine the cause of Brassner's death.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
