There is a federal push Thursday for tens of millions of dollars toward infrastructure upgrades in the Hudson Valley.

Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney held a news conference in Newburgh, announcing a package of six bills in what he says is the largest infrastructure legislation to date.

The measures earmark $43 million toward dozens of Hudson Valley infrastructure projects.

Maloney says the money comes at a critical time when upgrades and jobs are needed.

"These aren't short-term investments. These are investments that our grandparents and parents made - in highways systems, water systems that are aging out and bridges we're seeking to repair," says Maloney.

The bills fall under President Joe Biden's proposed $1 trillion infrastructure spending plan, which Republicans counteroffered Thursday with much less.
