The FDNY says a car erupted into flames inside a Montefiore Medical Center parking lot in the Norwood section of The Bronx.

Officials say the car burst into flames on the fifth floor of the staff parking garage.

The vehicle was destroyed, and four nearby cars were damaged.

Firefighters arrived on the scene to battle the fire just after 7 a.m., according to the FDNY.

News 12 spoke with a nurse who said it happened during the shift change at the hospital.

Sources tell News 12 that responders believed an electric vehicle started the fire, prompting hazmat crews to work the scene. However, sources say it was not electric.

It took firefighters 45 minutes to control the flames.

No one was hurt during the incident.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
