Firefighter union officials are holding a news conference Monday morning as the city's vaccine mandate for all municipal workers goes into effect.
News 12 is told Firefighters Association president Andrew Ansbro and FDNY Fire Officers' Association president Jim McCarthy will be joined by fellow firefighters.
They say they'll be discussing the recent and expected firehouse closures, staffing shortages as well as how many FDNY officers have been placed on unpaid leave so far.
The FDNY says it hasn't closed any firehouses so far. It says its overall vaccination rate is 80%.
