Firefighters helped rescue at least one trapped tenant from a burning building in Fordham Thursday night.
Flames broke out around 7:45 p.m. on the fourth floor of the building at East Fordham Road and Decatur Avenue.
Firefighters rescued a man who was dangling from the fifth floor. He said flames were going into his window and he had to decide whether to stay or jump. Crews were able to get raise a bucket up to the man and get him to safety.
News 12 spoke with a man who said he helped save his family when the fire started. He said he saw the flames, grabbed his relatives in the apartment and exited through the fire escape.
No injuries were reported.
Authorities are working to determine the cause of the fire.
