Florist offers holiday flowers intended to honor departed loved ones
A Riverdale flower shop is gearing up to remind residents that the holiday season is more than just exchanging presents.
Owner of Columbia Florist Connie Dennis told News 12 The Bronx that she sells freshly cut plants that are meant to honor loved ones who are no longer with us. Her best sellers are poinsettias.
"They buy the wreaths and tie them onto the stones. They buy Christmas greenery they can lay down. Everyone is sentimental and it's a good time to go and remember the loved ones," she said.
Dennis also told News 12 that her flower shop sells to businesses and churches to decorate. Some of her services include centerpieces, boxwood tree decorations, and wreaths.
