Former rehab centers go up for auction
Two Claremont homes once used to help those with alcoholism and substance abuse issues went up for auction on Wednesday.
849 Crotona Park North and 1790 Marmion Ave. have been empty for some time after the cost to update the buildings became too expensive.
The two locations used to be certified treatment centers and owned by the state's Office of Alcohol and Substance Abuse Services.
Both properties were built in the 1930s and have over 5,000-square feet of living space.
The winning bid for 849 Crotona Park North wound up at $1.60 million. The Marmion Avenue home sold for just over $1.8 million.
