A large fire atop an apartment building on East 140th Street displaced residents Thursday night.
On Friday, some residents whose homes were spared from flames said water damage had destroyed their apartments instead.
Authorities say the fire sparked on the top floor of a six-story building.
Tenant Noemi Lugo says the water used to extinguish the four-alarm fire caused her ceiling to cave in and destroyed her second-floor home.
She and her neighbors remain without power as they try and pick up the pieces.
"It's like a storm hit," she says.
The Red Cross is assisting some of the displaced residents.
