FreshDirect accused of dumping discarded fleet in BX
A Bronx community group claims FreshDirect is using their local waterfront as a dumping ground.
Libertad Guerra says the row of FreshDirect trucks that line the Harlem River Rail Yard is a discarded fleet brought to The Bronx after being damaged during Sandy.
Guerra says she is working with a community group that is in the process of suing FreshDirect over environmental concerns. The group wants to stop the company from subleasing the land for its headquarters.
The suit is still pending in court. FreshDirect says it has an agreement with the Harlem River Yards that allows the company to store its trucks there.
