Friends of assaulted street vendor demand justice
Friends of a street vendor who was violently assaulted in Mott Haven last week are demanding justice.

Police say a mob of five people beat 53-year-old Souleymane Porgo at East 149th Street and Third Avenue on Tuesday after failing to shoplift from his stand.
Officials say the vendor suffered a skull fracture, which caused bleeding in his brain. He remains at Lincoln Hospital in critical condition. Police say they have identified two of the five suspects as William Burgess and Enrique Foote.
Friends of the victim say he worked 10-hour days, seven days a week on the same corner for 10 years.
